Painting is simultaneously a form of meditation and prayer. Through my focused attention on each subject, I dive deep into the understanding of color and form in every painting, while fielding my own steady stream of personal thoughts, expectations and hopes for the work. In the process, I inevitably discover aspects of both the subject and myself, and the relationships present between us increase with every hour at the easel. It is this connection, this everlasting interaction with the natural world, that I seek in every painting. It is my hope that the search for this core comes through when the paint dries, and continues to resonate with those who view my work.
